How do I get and use my Rail&Drive key card?
Once your driving licence is validated, pick up the card in person or have it sent to you by post. You hold it against the reader behind the windscreen to unlock and lock the vehicle.

Get your key card
- Validate your driving licence in the ÖBB Rail&Drive app.
- Book an appointment via the link in the app or in your onboarding email.
- Pick up the card in person, or have it sent to you by post. Only then is your account activated for tasks.
Unlock and lock
- To unlock, hold the card against the reader behind the windscreen.
- To lock, close all doors and hold the card against the reader again.
Notes
- The chip/key stays in the slot in the glove box.
- You can't unlock the vehicle with the ÖBB Rail&Drive app. You need your physical key card.
