How does the exterior wash work on ÖBB Rail&Drive tasks?
You wash the vehicle outside at a car wash and pay with the fuel card from the document folder. Before and after photos are mandatory, and you must do the cleaning yourself.

Steps
- Take the before photo.
- Drive to the car wash and wash the vehicle outside. Pay with the fuel card from the document folder.
- Take the after photo.
With a vehicle check
- An exterior wash can be a fixed add-on to a vehicle check. If it is known upfront, the card shows "Außenreinigung" and the checkbox is pre-ticked and locked in the completion flow. You can't change it.
- If no exterior wash is specified upfront, you decide after a visual check whether the vehicle needs washing.
- If an exterior wash is needed and the tank is below 25%, refuelling is mandatory as part of the task too.
Notes
- You must carry out the cleaning yourself. It can't be handed over to someone else.
- The petrol station is only open until 24:00, so wash by 23:00 at the latest.
